
Positions - Offense: QB, RB, WR, TE, OL Defense: DL, DB, LB
Offense
Quarterback (QB): This position passes the ball to an eligible receiver (WR, TE, RB), QBs can also run with the ball. When running, you're able to slide by dragging your finger in a forward slant, the QB will show a sliding animation (only works with a QB). You may only have 1 active QB per game. QB's are the most important position in the game so it is important to get a good one.
In-game you control the QB for every snap. You may drag back on the screen to pass the ball, drag forward to do a QB sneak or tap on the RB to rush the ball. Additionally, when passing the ball, you may tap the screen while dragging back to throw a bullet pass.

The ideal QB has high accuracy, strength and stamina. For veterans of the game, throw accuracy matters less since you can guess how long of an arc your QB has.

Running Back (RB): This position runs the ball down the field to try to get a first down or a touchdown, they are also a eligible receiver which means they can catch the ball when passed to them. You may only have 1 active RB per game. Strength, Speed, and Stamina are the most important attributes for this position but try to get an RB with OK catching ability.
In-game you may swipe up or down to change the direction the RB is running in. Additionally, you may swipe backwards to stop the run, or swipe forwards to dive.

Wide Receiver (WR): This position tries to catch passes from the QB, they try to avoid DBs, outrun them, or stiff arm them. You may only have 2 active WR per game. Catching, Speed and Stamina are the most important attributes for this position.

Ideal WR with max catching, max speed, great stamina, and decent strength

Tight End (TE): This position either contributes to blocking with OL or make a run to catch a pass. You may only have 2 active TE per game.

Offensive Linesman (OL): This position protects the QB by blocking the DL from sacking the QB

Defense
Defensive Back (DB): This position covers WRs and tries to intercept the ball or prevent the WR from moving the ball toward the endzone, this position also includes safeties and cornerbacks (both positions not in Retro Bowl).

Defensive Linesman (DL): This position includes Defensive Tackles and Defensive Ends(Both positions are not in Retro Bowl) they try to stop RBs/QBs from running the ball or try to sack the QB during passing plays

Linebackers (LB): They line up behind the DL and and either help stop carriers(players that run)with DL or be a DB sometimes, they are usually the most versatile player on defense

Special Teams

Position K
Kicker (K): This position kicks Field Goals and 1 point conversion. Additionally your kicker punts the ball and kicks kick offs. You may only have 1 active K per game.

For Field goals and 1 point conversions there will be an arrow that goes up and down to determine the direction of the kick. Try to click the screen when the arrow points at the desired direction. Weather and more specifically wind direction affects how the ball moves after you kick it.
Currently the user cannot control kick offs and punts.

Kick Returner (KR): This is a unofficial position in Retro Bowl. You can choose a DB, WR, or RB as your kick returner, you can only have one kick returner, they try to score touchdowns from kick returns and punts, stats are based on your DB's, WR's, or RB's stats. You can click the flag in the player page to enable this. If you don't it will be a noname.
